Bingo Players is celebrating a decade in dance music. A ten-year career in dance music can seem like an eternity, and even following the tragic loss of the former duo’s Paul Baumer in 2013 to cancer, Maarten Hoogstraten has ensured that the Bingo Players name remains to be a fixture in a music scene that is worlds different from when the two Dutch DJs first emerged. To celebrate the milestone, Bingo Players’ seminal classic “Cry (Just a Little)” is getting a fresh update, with A-Trak with Phantoms in tow.
Getting a healthy mix of veteran and newcoming talents on the remix, A-Trak and Phantoms join for a groovy, garage-inspired rework of one of the most popular electronic dance tracks of the last decade. The LA producer-duo and their Brooklyn-based counterpart pivot away from the progressive electro theme of the original, reworking the track’s key elements with a thumping disco treatment and hissing low-pass accents. A-Trak and Phantoms do the track the justice it deserves, paying homage to the Bingo Players with an ace remix of “Cry.”
