Bassnectar dropped a bigger bomb than his most gargantuan drops when he appeared on Insomniac Event‘s founder Pasquale Rottella’s Nite Owl Radio show. When prodded by Rotella, the producer revealed that he had agreed to his first-ever festival residency, slated to be a yearly performer at Michigan’s Electric Forest.
Forming out of the defunct Rothbury Music Festival, Electric Forest has seen its profile grow each year, with last year’s production featuring Skrillex, Bassnectar, Flume, Kaskade, and the festival’s resident jam band, The String Cheese Incident, as headliners. When giving his reasons to agree to his first festival residency, Bassnectar stated that “…nowhere felt like home for that,” while also citing, “…the heart and soul that’s put into that event.”
Electric Forest will be held in Rothbury, Michigan from June 23-26, with Bassnectar once again a headliner. To hear Bassnectar discuss his new residency at Electric Forest, skip to approximately the 38-minute-mark below.
