BoomTown Fair Festival campsite evacuated due to massive car park fire

BoomTown Fair Festival, which takes place in Hampshire, UK, has been hit by a massive carpark fire involving at least 80 vehicles. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, though a number of campsites near the blaze were evacuated. An investigation is underway to find out the cause of the incident.

According to the BoomTown Fair Twitter, the fire took place among cars parked in the West Car Park that arrived 10-11am on Thursday. For attendees who may be affected, BoomTown Incident Info is open until 10pm at the West Gate.

The majority of the 60,000 attendees can rest easy: festival organizers have stated that none of the performances–ranging from Damian Marley to KOAN Sound to Leftfield to Skream–across the 24 main stages have been affected.

Rushmoor Fire Station provided pictures of the destruction taking place and Hants Fire Control shows the aftermath.
