DA Premiere: Kings of Tomorrow – I Want You (For Myself) [Sharam’s Playa Remix]

After spending the past few years focusing on producing original work, American-Iranian progressive house DJ, Sharam, has switched gears and once again delved back into the remix game. This time around, the Yoshitoshi label boss has lent a hand to the Kings of Tomorrow’s classic, soulful house track “I Want You (For Myself).”

Making its debut back in the summer of 1998, the record has since become one of Sharam’s favorite label signings to date. Taking great care not to stray too much from the underlying spirit of the original, Sharam has turned up the tempo and developed a rendition aptly fit for modern day. The nine-minute affair features simmering builds and swells, backed by an oscillating bassline that pervades Julie McKnight’s fervid vocals and breathes new energy into the listening experience.

Sharam’s remix is being released alongside a remastered version of the original as part of the Yoshitoshi Classic pack 8, out on February 29.
