Deadmau5 might be infamous for his constant trolling of all facets of the music industry, but looking past his internet presence reveals a different person underneath. He reminds us of this every now and then through kind gestures such as buying a fan a new laptop and equipment after it had been stolen from him in 2014, and of course cultivating the artistry of his mau5trap family.
The latest proof of deadmau5′s more benevolent intentions comes in the form of Chimaera, a robust sample pack of 110 MIDI melodies and 73 kick drum samples collected over six years of Zimmerman “fucking around in the studio.”
Chimaera is a completely royalty-free, allowing producers to sample the legend himself without any negative legal consequencse. The full package is available for download on Splice via the platform’s credits system.
