Deadmau5 to fill in for The Prodigy at Ultra Music Festival

One of the innumerable draws to this year’s iteration of Ultra Music Festival is it’s huge array of respected, veteran dance acts, which spanned a comprehensively tasteful roster of performers like Black Coffee and Rabbit on the Moon. Perhaps the most hyped of yesteryear’s performers, howeever, were seminal British group The Prodigy, who were set to headline the Live Stage for the festival’s second night.

Unfortunately, due to heath issues, MC and vocalist Keith Palmer, who performs under the “Maxim” moniker, will be unable to perform. The Prodigy announced on their Facebook Page that they will be cancelling their performance, and extended fans their apologies.

“The Prodigy are very disappointed to announce that they will not be performing at Ultra Music festival on Saturday night.
Due to doctors orders Maxim has been unable to travel nor perform in Miami this weekend resulting in the cancellation of The Prodigy performance. The band would like to apologise to all their fans.

From Liam Prodigy – ‘We are all gutted about this, we were ready n fired up about comin to play Miami Ultra, I can’t even remember the last time we had to pull out of a show. We will be back to play in the USA as soon as possible’”

Deadmau5 has announced that he’ll be filling in for The Prodigy, reprising the role of substituting headliner that he played phenomenally when Avicii had to cancel his 2014 UMF performance.

Deadmau5 went on to say that, while The Prodigy are irreplaceable, he wishes them a speedy recovery and will do his best to “throw down in their stead.”
