Disciples entered the electronic arena on a strong note, aided by Pete Tong who chose their single “They Don’t Know” as his Essential Tune upon its debut on his show. Calvin Harris noticed their production skills, recruiting them to co-write his 2015 hit “How Deep Is Your Love,” and cementing them as a household name in the process. The group has remained largely true to their roots despite their commercial success, releasing house cuts carrying traditional elements geared more toward the underground.
David Guetta has become the third big name artist to take a high interest in Disciples’ work, asking to be included in their then-unfinished work, “No Worries.” The resulting collaboration fuses commercialism of a contemporary Guetta production with the retro house vibes we’ve come to expect from the British trio into a mellow future house-esque piece with vocals that sound like they were recorded in the 1980s. “No Worries” falls a bit short of what one might expect from a piece made entirely by Disciples, yet its simplistic nature will undoubtedly translate into greater crossover success.
