DJ Snake has spent the last several months building anticipation for his debut artist album — the release of which is forecast for some time this year. For 24-hours in December, the French trap star allowed fans free access to one of its singles, “Propaganda.” The next step for the track was selecting a handful of Snake’s industry peers to provide their spin on the production, one of which was his “Get Low” collaborator, Dillon Francis.
Francis chose his home style of moombahton for his re-work, underlining the original’s creepy topline with the familiar shuffling rhythm that has made him into a star. Instrumentation takes a larger focus as roaring synths take the place of the song’s central trap basslines to create an equally full-bodied production.
