DJ and producer El Dusty has long been credited a pioneer of the electro-cumbia movement, which has steadily been sweeping the country from cities like Corpus Christie to Los Angeles to Miami. With a repertoire of music that ranges from sultry, hip-shaking jams to hard-hitting trap-inspired anthems, the Texan has never been one to fear experimentation and pushing envelopes — his career is largely based on the approach. His most recent release is no exception. Out just in time for the holiday that shares its namesake, “Cinco De Mayo” is a no-holds-barred, cumbia-electronica weapon with plenty of hip hop flavor and hard edge intensity courtesy of collaborators Los Dutis and Morenito De Fuego.
