Shockingly, Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen” is approaching two years since it was initially released. Still, any hit half as infectious would have impressive legs and the track’s remix potential — some of which we’ve already highlighted — has only extended its longevity. The most recent comes courtesy of Kasbo who takes Fetty’s drug-and-love anthem and updates it with a future bass twist.
The Swedish producer drapes Fetty Wap’s vocals in a luminous, gliding synth, adding snares and a kick drum as the energy builds. This is released at the drop, where he unleashes a melodic, shimmering wobble surrounded by Fetty samples drenched in reverb as immense drums rumble underneath. To keep things interesting, Kasbo introduces an electric xylophone contributing descending arpeggios that twist and swirl around Fetty’s vocals as they lead to another capacious drop.
