Hear The Many Sides Of Ookay With His Latest “Cocoon” EP
Sometimes some of our biggest sources of inspiration come from the darkest of places. Sometimes it develops into something bigger than when it first started. Sometimes it leaves us sad and sometimes it leaves us feeling like we need to get up, dance, and live up every day. This seems to be the budding and blossoming story behind Ookay’s latest EP Cocoon . The opening track “Back Again,” was written for Ookay’s friend and beloved DJ, Big Makk who passed away unexpectedly in an accident back in August. The lyrics and delicately orchestrated instrumentals blend together perfect to create a ballad for Bigg Makk, but I promise it only encourages the rest of the EP to be followed by tracks that instill a feeling of living it up and getting down. My personal favorite are “Long Time” and “New Jack Swing” as there was no sitting silently and listening, but more of a dancing in my chair and playing it loud enough for the coworkers to hear.
