Kaytranada is sharing the details behind his new album, due May 6 via XL Recordings. The Montreal-bred beat maker began this process by sharing the album art and track list, the latter of which boasts a colorful cast of assisting talent within its roster. The 15-track studio effort, called 99.9%, will feature work from Anderson .Paak, AlunaGeorge, Vic Mensa, GoldLink and more, pointing to a saavy blend of hip-hop and forward-thinking dance music. To satiate fans in the months leading up to the album’s release, Kaytranada has chosen to celebrate the announcement of 99.9% by premiering its first single, “Bus Ride.”
“Bus Ride” is a smooth instrumental jazz joint that acts as a teaser for 99.9%, leaving the listener’s palate craving the rest of the record’s fourteen other selections. Plug in a good pair of headphones and ride along with Kaytranada’s album appetizer – the rest of 99.9% will be here soon.
