Listen to Eduardo Castillo’s calmative track, ‘The Whistler’

Despite their difference in genres, Eduardo Castillo and Andrew Bird both posses harrowing sounds that complement each other effortlessly. The artists’ compatibility is evident in “The Whistler,” Eduardo Castillo’s most recent release.

An adaptation of his favorite instrumental piece from Andrew Bird, Castillo describes the track as suited “for [the] lazy sexy dance floor.” Castillo dexterously magnifies and renews one of Bird’s most definitive sonic aspects in “The Whistler,” opting to center his re-imagination around Bird’s signature crooning violin. Castillo also carefully layers in his own dynamic sound to diversify Bird’s original composition, building artfully upon the original composition’s halcyon plucking with a lulling downtempo melody.
