Though disputed rumors abounded in 2014 regarding Skrillex and Diplo being booed offstage at Burning Man after playing “Turn Down For What,” both artists have remained very actively involved with the gathering since. In 2015, Diplo performed with Major Lazer and as a solo act, while Skrillex performed a set of his own and hosted an event to fundraise for an art project in 2016. A lineup announcement from Burning Man staple Camp Questionmark reveals that both artists will be returning to the Playa in 2016.
Alongside their lineup announcement, Camp Questionmark issued the following statement:
Camp Questionmark’s “biggest year at Burning Man yet” is as impressive as one might expect, boasting a lineup that any transformational event producer would covet. In addition to Skrillex and Diplo, the sound camp will host performances by GRiZ, The Glitch Mob, Rusko, Mr. Carmack, Tokimonsta, and a number of other high profile DJs, live acts, and Burning Man regulars.
