It goes without saying that Skrillex has become a global sensation in the last six years. As Sonny Moore crosses between bass music, mainstream hits, and explores various avenues in between, it’s easy to forget that the dance music phenomenon began his career as the frontman for post-hardcore band From First To Last.
In a surprising move, Skrillex has chosen to celebrate his 29th birthday with a brand new track from his original band. Entitled “Make War,” the track was released totally out of the blue, with no marketing leading up to its release. Lacking the production style that pervades his electronic releases, “Make War” may not resonate with all of Skrillex’s fans. However, its release is an impressive reminder that Sonny Moore is not tethered to the expectations of the masses, but puts out the music he wants to make whenever he damn well pleases.
