Illenium spent the beginning of his career forging a name for himself in bass music. He’s now started off 2016 in grand fashion, having released a widely adored debut LP in February that will serve as the focal point for his upcoming tour across the US in March.
Despite having a busy schedule, the producer still sets aside a fair amount of studio time for himself to create quality music, such as his recent remix of “Don’t Let Me Down.” Illenium presents a downplayed take on the original, toning down its festival trap elements with the kind of strong yet mellow hits of bass that he’s known for conjuring. Suddenly, Daya’s voice along with other key aspects of “Don’t Let Me Down” are transformed into a dreamy soundscape that packs power without being overly abrasive.
