From trance to progressive and electro house, Tiësto has seen – and produced – it all. A staple in the electronic music community since the 90s, Tijs’ humble beginnings were marked by the founding of Black Hole Recordings, the creation of Gouryella alongside Ferry Corsten, and the release of his debut studio album, In My Memory.
Fast-forward to 2016 and Tiësto’s musical aesthetic has undeniably transformed. Elements of Life hinted that a shift was coming, but it wasn’t until Kaleidoscope and the launch of a more progressive Musical Freedom that fans had come to terms with the Dutch icon’s transition into a new phase of his life. Now he has announced the third coming of Tiësto, in the form of a deep house maestro.
Thus, AFTR:HRS Records was born. Citing his need for an appropriate outlet to release deep house cuts, Tijs strategically manipulated Musical Freedom’s logo to effortlessly form the imprint’s sleek emblem. The label will serve as a platform for Tiësto to share new sounds that have for years inspired him.
AFTR:HRS’ debut release is premiering this morning on Danny Howard’s BBC Radio 1 show.
