Last month, reports surfaced that a number of girls were found unconscious in DVBBS’ dressing room at Balton Sound music festival in Hungary, one of which being the daughter of prominent Hungarian television personality, Bényi Ildikó. The brothers denied any alleged wrongdoing in a statement released shortly after the story began developing.
“We are shocked that some attendees of the Balaton Festival (sic) were victims of events which got them hospitalized. Police asked our cooperation for the investigation and of course we did what we could. Police confirmed there isn’t any link between us and what happened, that’s why we took off a couple of hours later to our next gig in ibiza.”
In the days following the initial reports, the number of girls found either unconscious or severely intoxicated began to grow and news of members in the duo’s entourage facing arrests began to break. A total of six girls have since come forward, and now their lawyers are reportedly asking for a sum of 100,000,000 Hungarian forint, which roughly equates to $360,000 dollars.
The big room brothers are expected to reach a settlement with the victims directly to cover the majority of that cost, according to Hungarian media outlet BORS, and likely the event promoter’s insurance will cover the remainder. A source close to the situation who spoke to BORS further disclosed that authorities now do believe sexual assault did take place, and that police believe there is still an unidentified party complicit in the act.
The case is expected to reach a settlement outside of court, and though evidence seems to be stacked pretty heavily against DVBBS, the pair could walk without any charges for the price of a small monetary sum.
