Australian producer Will Sparks received a heavy ladling of backlash this week after posting a lengthy Facebook status telling women with large social media followings that they should be “doing something GOOD, MOTIVATING, INSPIRING or maybe even ENTERTAINING or EXCITING!”
In the post, Will Sparks describes girls who “frequently snap chat themselves with a filter, doing absolutely nothing but checking them self out, while rap music is playing in the back ground off their phone” as being insecure and self-conscious. He urges them to do something with their social media followings and give back to their fanbases.
Even though the post was removed from his Facebook page, the Internet quickly sent in a flurry of outraged responses. Below, you’ll find Will Sparks’ original post and several of the retorts.
