A mere month ago, Grandtheft released the infectious future bass/pop ballad “Square One.” The Toronto mixer shows no signs of slowing down as he is already back with the release of another new track, “Aaron’s Theme.” Forsaking the bubbly approach on “Square One” for a more cavernous trap texture, Grandtheft proves once again that he can dabble in multiple genres.
Complete with blaring horns and a forthright structure, “Aaron’s Theme” is reminiscent of trap music’s nascent years and makes no conceited effort to include unnecessary production elements. With only the bare essentials, Grandtheft has unveiled a stripped down festival gem.
