Featured last week in the first volume of Dancing Astronaut Presents: 5 Under 5,000, production duo Nine Lives have quickly formulated a winning sound since their debut four months ago. Continuing their streak of quality remixes, Nine Lives brings their smooth production to the debut song of Australian band Blessed, titled “One and Only.”
Keeping things more straightforward this time – compared to the complexity of their last remix of Opia’s track “Falling” — Nine Lives supply a solid, uncomplicated sine bass line, saw chords and beat on which the vocals flow nicely. Ditching the usual two to three drop format of most modern electronic tracks, Nine Lives build up once and proceed to keep the groove going until a short melodic break at the end.
