Controversy surrounding DJ Snake’s Latest Trap Edit

DJ Snake released his trap edit to Prodigy & Mercer’s Breathe, his first “new” work of the 2014 today.  It is a filthy rework to this classic track with heavy bass and trap synths.  It is a great way to begin 2014 for DJ Snake after coming over such big year in 2013.  However, after listening to this track, it sounded all to similar to another production that had been made.

(UPDATE: Seems like DJ Snake deleted the track on his soundcloud. For those of you who haven’t heard it yet, listen to Breaux’s track below.  It seemed to come to down to a huge misunderstanding between both Breaux and DJ Snake, who are now both on the same page.  DJ Snake had reached out to Mercer for the stems to be able to play the track in his sets but was not supposed to release it. Four months prior, a Seattle DJ, Breaux, had released an identical rework to Prodigy & Mercer’s Breathe.  As of yet, there is no explanation for what seems to be down right copying by DJ Snake.  However, we do not want to draw any conclusions right now, since we have not heard from DJ Snake yet.  If this is simply a case where DJ Snake copied Breaux’s work though, it would be devastatingly bad news for a DJ that has done no wrong up to this point.
