EDX Proves His Impressive Staying Power With Another Stellar Miami Music Week

With yet another edition of Miami Music Week and Ultra Music Festival in the books, it’s time for us to look back and see the artists that impressed during the pivotal week in dance music. While there are always a ton of amazing things to come out of Miami Music Week, one of the best things about the mass congregation of dance music artists and executives in South Beach is the chance to see which up-and-comers are going to hit their stride this year, and which established artists are going to continue their trend to stardom. This year, Miami Music Week was dominated by expected artists, like Martin Garrix and Knife Party, and a number of artists on the cusp of breaking through, like Felix Jaehn and Gryffin, but one unexpected name continued to surprise us day after day – EDX.

EDX is over twenty years into his lengthy career in dance music, an impressive feat in any industry, let alone one as fickle and fast moving as music, but he’s managed to stay at the forefront of a conversation dominated by young artists thanks to his matured take on progressive house and stand-out live performances. With two decades worth of experience under his belt, EDX has nearly seen it all in the music industry, and it’s because of that that the Swiss-based artist is still able to consistently dominate the charts and headlines.

The Italian dance luminary was the man behind some of the biggest tracks of 2015, like his take on Sam Feldt’s “Show Me Love,” and his own originals, like “Belong.” This year, EDX rode a huge wave of momentum coming into Miami Music Week, as he was fresh off of his massive, inter-continental NoXcuses vs. Enormous Tunes bus tour. Even without a slot at Ultra Music Festival, EDX ensured that he was one of the most prominent artists in Miami, playing nine gigs in Miami over the span of six days, punctuated with his NoXcuses Party that took over SET Nightclub for an unforgettable night of some of the best house music in the world. He not only showed off his impressive DJing abilities at the NoXcuses party, but EDX also flexed his tastemaking muscle, enlisting a lineup that featured The Magician, Bakermat, Sander Kleinenberg, and Croatia Squad.

If you were able to catch EDX at one of his Miami Music Week shows, then you were able to see firsthand the sky-high ceiling for the NoXcuses founder in 2016. Armed with a catalogue of unreleased tracks that he’s ready to unleash on the world, EDX is continuing to show that he is one of the best in dance music year after year.
