Twenty-two-year old Norwegian producer Jerry Folk has been creating funky, synth-laden tunes since he was 15. With influences like Mura Masa, Kaytranada and James Blake, he smoothly incorporates little bits from each genre to create his truly unique sound, channeling elements of jazz, funk and hip-hop.
He now releases his second single, “Sweetness on my Tongue,” from his forthcoming EP, Leisure Tapes. The track bounces with an arpeggiated lead, warm retro synths, and a catchy top-line that grooves effortlessly as percussion guides each note. The tune is a warm and luscious wonderland that perfectly complements any summer day.
As the years go on, Jerry Folk continuously proves his ability to grow in his music and has been polishing his genre-bending sound. The full EP is slated to drop later this year.
