John O’Callaghan & Claire Stagg – Lies Cost Nothing (Original Mix)

John O’Callaghan’s prolonged track record of high-caliber releases across and groundbreaking artists promoted on his Subculture imprint throughout the year maintain his status as a key player in uplifting and tech trance and as one of the scene’s most beloved figures. He’s spent a decent amount of time exploring under other aliases as of late, writing lush progressive tunes under a revived Henrik Zuberstein and creating a heavy tech trance project alongside Bryan Kearney labeled ‘Key 4050.’

The Irishman reverted to his usual identity in February with an emotive remix of “Two Trees,” and now returns with a brand new collaboration with vocalist Claire Stagg called “Lies Cost Nothing.” Their work together embodies an ideal uplifting trance piece, filled with meaningful lyrics sung by Stagg over a powerful kick and airy synth chords tinged with slight melancholy. As per usual, O’Callaghan succeeds at writing another composition whose nature opens up emotional floodgates while listening and leaves one feeling refreshed at the end. “Lies Cost Nothing” will land on Subculture at an unannounced time hopefully in the near future.
