Anjunadeep talent and deep house tastemaker Lane 8 made an inarguable impression on the dance scene last summer with the release of his debut album, Rise. Since then, he’s continued to extend his presence in 2016, first with the Midnight EP, released last month, and now with a reworking of his own single: “Loving You feat. Lulu James.”
The first cut off of Rise, the original version of “Loving You” was a tight and efficient radio-ready tune with a catchy top line and an airy disco groove. For the rework, Lane 8 switches things up a bit and employs a sharply kinetic bas line and melodic textures that subtly expand and evolve over the track’s 7-minute run-time. The end result is a rework that is darker than the original, and ultimately more alluring; better suited for intimate clubs than sunny main stages.
