Diplo has the ability to play to any scene, any occasion and do so to absolute perfection. Not all of these rare performances make way onto the internet, but today is our lucky day as we feast our ears on this very special set from Burning Man 2017.
Robot Heart is a self-described collective of doers and dreamers, artists and entrepreneurs. The name is repped from streets of NYC to Detroit to San Francisco and all the way to Hong Kong, but they, like many others, consider their home to be in the desert dust of Burning Man.
To mark the collective’s 10th anniversary, Diplo played an extra vibey, worldly set, celebrating sounds from all over the globe. For over an hour, Diplo and friends jammed out to afrobeat, deep house, and uncategorized songs with an overall tribal feel. A performance this special can only take place every decade or so, which made the energy unbeatable.
Until now, we’ve only heard how amazing this Burning Man set for Robot Heart’s 10 Year Anniversary truly was — but we can finally experience it for ourselves right here.
So picture this, it’s Thursday evening at Burning Man and as the sun begins to set, this is what you hear.
