Canadian producers Snails and Botnek, who previously collaborated in late 2013 on the electro-house record “KRMT,” have joined forces for a second time with “Happy Hour.” Neither Snails nor the duo behind Botnek are often classified as subtle, and their latest release doesn’t disappoint. The artists’ respective styles are amplified when combined for a stereo-shattering result.
“Happy Hour” builds around an electro house bassline, with elements of bass house, trap, and dubstep leading into explosive drops. A vocal sample cautions “I’m gonna need a beer for this,” but fans of classic Botnek electro house and Snails’ unique combination of dubstep and trap will find that “Happy Hour” needs no accompanying libation.
