The Top 10 Sets To Catch During Coachella Weekend 2

With Coachella Music Festival’s first weekend under our belt, attendees of the event’s second round will arrive at the polo grounds today with the advantage of knowing exactly what’s in store for their upcoming three days. Thanks to the festival’s day-long live streams and the ensuing buzz on social media and elsewhere, plotting out a strategic plan to hit the most unique and memorable performances during Weekend 2 is now achievable. And with the substantial pool of incredible electronic artists and DJs populating the event, there are more than plenty to choose from.

For us, the first choice is an obvious one. Coming off the heels of his recent single, “Crazy,” Lido has created an enormous amount of attention around his Coachella performances after revealing that he’ll be playing the entirety of his upcoming album for those in attendance. Enough said.

Speaking of highly anticipated, upcoming albums, Flume‘s Weekend 2 set is sure to be filled to the brim with material from Skin alongside guest performances from Vince Staples and others. With his history of playing out new tunes at festivals, missing his set is not a viable option. Even though his Weekend 1 set was relatively vanilla, with the debut of his collaboration with Tove Lo and the tracklist for his album, we can expect a couple surprises this time around.

For something a little heavier, and perhaps more vomit-inducing, Snails will be returning to the festival once again to represent the grungy and grimy corners of the bass music spectrum. Featured in his Weekend 1 set were several previously unheard ID tracks, including collaborations with Space Laces and Dion Timmer. As one of the most acclaimed DJs in current dubstep, and with the gift Skrillex’s own seal of approval, Snails is likely to bring down the house (tent?) in spades.

Over on the Main Stage during Weekend 1, Sia‘s performance was quickly publicized as one of the most beautiful and artistic displays of the entire event, maybe of Coachella ever. With a wide host of guests and live music videos being played above her, Sia commanded the stage in ways no one else could imitate. It’s unclear whether she’ll be returning to the festival with a completely new performance in mind or stick to the first weekend’s routine, but regardless, it’s sure to make history.

One of the most fantastic aspects of Coachella every year is the Do Lab Stage. Hosting a mind boggling roster of some of the electronic scene’s up and coming producers, the line up this year is a dream come true for anyone hoping to avoid some of the more advertised, main stage sets. Sam Gellaitry, our favorite Scottish youth, will be one such guest, playing out a soulful and energetic set tonight at 8 p.m. Attendees will be treated to tracks from his recently released Escapism EP, as well as groovy additions from his ex-Soulection brethren.

Zedd‘s Weekend 1 performance was truly one for the books. Kesha, Sydney Echosmith and others joined him onstage while his soaring visuals captivated the enormous crowd for an unforgettable close to Sunday night. His set this weekend looks to bring more of the same energy and bliss to the polo fields, and will surely come as a fitting end to the festivities.

Back at the Do Lab, a personal favorite of ours, Sweater Beats, will be taking to the stage this weekend for a supporting set tonight before Hippie Sabotage. His previous performances at events like last year’s HARD Summer have shown him to be an expert when it comes to controlling a crowd and pulling out all the stops.

We’d be remiss not to mention Skrillex and Diplo’s Jack Ü performance as one of the highlights of the event’s first weekend. The list of guests was outrageous, and the stage design was a spectacle in and of itself. The duo was created with the festival stage in mind, allowing the two to command the vibe with incomparable energy and power. Their Weekend 2 set is likely to bring more of the same, and is a must-see for anyone looking to transform the Ourdoor Stage into a house party.

The Lucent Dossier Experience is a group of performers, musicians and acrobats that have occupied Coachella for years. Moving from stage to stage, the appeal and attendance of the live act has grown steadily since it was first introduced. This year, the troupe has made the leap all the way to the closing spot in the Sahara Tent. For a Cirque de Soleil experience unlike anything else at the festival, be sure to catch them tonight.

Last but not least, we have The Chainsmokers. Their Sunday night set before KSHMR under the Sahara Tent was met with an unbelievable attendance and a raucous, high-octane display to boot. Their Weekend 2 performance will see the two playing out their most explosive and euphoric tracks under the night sky.
