Most conventional producers on SoundCloud follow the same developmental chart. Start off with a few originals and then make a bootleg here or there, which is where you start to see the fans come in – maybe you even chart a couple times on HypeMachine before your song gets struck. Following that, you usually move on to official remixes before you finally unveil original material for your solidified fanbase.
Texas-based duo Bronze Whale have more or less followed that curve, but at triple the usual speed. Their last two remixes ended up atop the HypeMachine charts at #1 and #2, respectively, and now a month later we’re blessed with “Hear Me,” their first original of 2016. The single features vocals from Kenzie May wrapped around Bronze Whale’s lush production and immaculate sound design. Most Bronze Whale tracks usually have a slower tempo to them, but this time around, the duo has cranked up the energy in the production to wrap up another quality bass tune highlighted by stellar sound design.
